FACILITY RENOVATIONS
2025 marked a significant milestone as the largest renovation in MNP Community & Sport Centre’s history gained major momentum. While the scale of the work is substantial, these renovations will ensure the Centre continues to meet the evolving needs of its community for generations to come, all while remaining open throughout the renovation and expansion process. The project will also modernize one of Canada’s premier sporting facilities through critical upgrades, including enhanced flood mitigation, improved environmental performance, and increased energy efficiency. While also providing new leisure options to better serve the communities of Calgary.

SOUTH EXPANSION
The new south entrance saw major progress in 2025, with stabilizing walls and support beams successfully erected and preparations underway for the pouring of a suspended slab that will form the new floor of the south entryway. To ensure the facility could continue serving the community throughout construction, several utilities were relocated, including the installation of a new power run. The boiler exhaust was also temporarily relocated, allowing the boilers to remain fully operational during this phase of the project.

WEST EXPANSION
2025 marked considerable progress on the LEAP West Expansion project. Structural steel was successfully erected, and the Q Deck was installed, enabling the area to be fully enclosed and hoarded. This milestone made it possible to continue construction throughout the winter months, maintaining project momentum. With the space secured, work advanced on forming and pouring concrete to shape the pools and various amenities, laying the foundation for the next phases of development.
